About the Role: The Senior Research Manager must have solid data analysis and interpretation skills, seek to understand our clients’ business strategies, and be able to turn research learning into meaningful stories that address business goals. This person will have a unique combination of skills that will allow them to design research, interpret results, assess strategic implications, and communicate a strategic narrative in a way that resonates with the client audience.

Although the majority of our research is quantitative in nature, the role requires a solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research techniques, as well as a strong client service orientation, excellent written communication skills, a keen eye for slide design and a mastery of PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities: 

Client Consultation

  • Interact with clients (both external and internal) ongoing

  • Consult with clients (both external and internal) to understand business goals, then design research methodology and scope projects to address those goals

  • Develop project budget and timeline and manage project to budget and timeline throughout execution

Project Execution

  • Design research questionnaires and discussion guides that fully address client’s essential learning objectives

  • Oversee all components of the projects assigned, essentially managing the details of the project from start to finish

  • Manage survey sample sources / vendors and fieldwork

  • Create plans for data analysis / tabulation

  • Consult with client throughout fielding period to relate findings, discuss business implications and recommend methodological / content adjustments as the research unfolds

  • Synthesize key findings into relevant frameworks and strategic implications

  • Develop compelling reports (both toplines and full-length reports) which carefully balance need for high level strategic insight and interest in deep, textured understanding

  • Present research findings to client when needed

  • Support the broader research team in managing project execution, including the above activities

Job requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree, preferably in Business, Market Research / Marketing Science, or Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, etc.)

  • 5+ years of hands-on market research experience (primarily quantitative, some qualitative is ideal)

  • Supplier-side experience is strongly preferred, but will consider client-side experience, if relevant

  • Extensive knowledge of survey research techniques and methods

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and/or Google Suite

  • Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills

  • Experience with Research in the CPG and/or Retail Industries

  • Experience with user friendly survey platforms such as Decipher/Forsta and SurveyMonkey

  • Full English fluency, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
